To be honest...

I like a 50 game season as compared to the 82 game season.

It seems like with the 82 game season, teams take nights off, go through the motions... but with a 50 game season, it should be more intense, better hockey.

Nothing worst than spending $300.00 on a night out to the arena, only to see a horrible hockey game.

All teams actually... that is why nothing beats playoff hockey.

I think it's really the only sport where the intensity get's turned up so much higher than the regular season.

They leave it all on the ice!!!

Don't really have much to say about my NHL merchandise shopping habits, so I was sitting this one out in the early going until someone struck up a different topic.

I understand... I have only bought one piece of merchandise for the Isles in years, and it was a jersey for my 5 year old son @ the time.

When I was a kid... I got swarmed with merchandise every Christmas...

Shirts, clocks, sticks, etc... I can't stand that stuff anymore!!!

My last jersey was a Mike Bossy jersey back in the day!!!

About 2 months ago i did buy a Tavares authentic jersey for my sons birthday.. Wasn't my choice But the kid loves Tavares and that's all he wanted for his B-Day..

Would have never thought my son would have become an Isles fan considering he was born and raised in paramus NJ And the Devils being a good team most of the time. And isles you know stinking up the league..

I have an old Isles license plate border that I transfered from my '88 Taurus to the car I got in 2003. You can barely even make out the logo anymore. I probably should update that one of these days.

After reading Adam French's blog on Portland's defense, I'm suddenly a bit less optimistic about Bridgeport's chances tonight. That's a good crop of d-men they have on that squad. Hopefully Nino and Nelson are hungry tonight. Fornabaio says Ullstrom made the trip, but isn't guaranteed to play, as did Cizikas who was banged up a bit Saturday. Hamonic still out.

Good team most of the time??? Lets be real, the devils couldnt even pack the barn during the cup finals.

Now Parise is gone.......what are ya gonna do now? You think Kovalchuk is gonna take you anywhere other than leading shot totals? You cant win with a Russian as your go to.......Marty is done, Elias is done, the other Gionta isnt Brian, Martin left.......and Newark isnt exactly the cultural hub of the tri state.

Many people have written the Devils' eulogy over the years. I'll believe it when they go three straight years without a playoff appearance.

They are and have been for a while a very detail-oriented team. When you pay attention to systems and the small stuff, you can rattle off wins despite an underwhelming roster. They've always been a team whose whole is more than the sum of its parts.

You're talking about a team that signed Kovalchuk to a 15 year contract. Lets not make on like they're playing with minor leaguers. They have talent......just the wrong talent. I'll take my isles against them anyday. Brodeur, meet Tavares.......nice knowin ya.
